In discussing downtown St. Albert, the one mention that seems to get a positive response from all ages is an outdoor Bandstand. While not a huge expense, it can be used by many and can also be designed in the form of a tribute.  Symphony under the stars, outdoor movie nights for the kids, Old time fiddle contests, Teen talent fest,  Holiday tributes, Visiting Artists and the list could go on. I love this possibility for the community.

This beautiful Saturday I will write about the Arts and what they are to me. Art is an all-encompassing term to me, I truly support it all. Art is not just a painting on the wall. Art is Architecture, beautiful gardens are art, specially created works whether they be sculptures or hand designed jewellery are art, music is art(yes all types of music), a restored home that was the pride of someone past is art, a restored vehicle is art, carvings are art, food is art, dance is art, a childs drawing is art and I could go on. All art has one thing in common, it is a reflection of the person who created it and it is a human accomplishment, a way that we make others feel good. Money doesn’t always have to factor into art but an appreciation among individuals does.
